Speed to come called "P wave" is fast, and, in the case of earthquake, small wave of shaking occurs with wave to cause big shaking. It is structure generally to tell about before big shaking arrives at using difference of the speed to come by measuring this "P wave", and analyzing.

The Earthquake Early Warning given from the Meteorological Agency reaches broadcasting station through exclusive line instantly while we are informed by exclusive receiving device installed in establishment and standard home. In TOKYO MX, we drew a figure of it in plain form and built system to send to audience on air waves with warning sound automatically.

When the Earthquake Early Warning was announced

Because there are few "P wave" and time lag with big shaking, in area near the seismic center, the Earthquake Early Warning is not enough. This range is regarded as dozens of kilos from the seismic center and holds structural limit where breaking news appears after local, having shaken that may suffer damage most. In addition, error may occur to expected seismic intensity (we do not treat by broadcast) to analyze based on limited information just after earthquake occurrence, and the breaking news may be started by mistake. When false report becomes clear, the Meteorological Agency is to report cancellation quickly.
